When most people think of purebred dogs, their thoughts turn to the show ring. Dogs, managed expertly by their handlers, circling the rings, all vying for the chance to take home the coveted titles. They make it all look so easy. In reality, getting a dog to reach the professional standards needed takes time, effort and a really good teacher.
SHOW LEVEL 1
You've just brought home a wonderful purebred dog, the one you've spent months waiting for. You really want your new bundle of joy to become the next champion but really have no idea how to go from point A to point B. If neither you nor your dog have ever done show handling before, Show level 1 is just what you need. This course teaches the handler and the dog what to expect in a show ring. The handler learns to teach their dog how to show and to become familiar with ring procedures and patterns.
SHOW LEVEL 2
If either you or your dog has already completed Show level 1, the next step for you may be Show level 2. In order to prepare for Show level 2, your dog must have basic show skills. This course teaches the handler and the dog various options and styles so that a handler can get the most from the dog their showing. During the course, some of the more difficult show patterns will be taught.
SHOW LEVEL 3
Once you've finished Show level 2, yet still strive for excellence in the show ring for both you and your dog, it may be time for Show level 3. In preparation for a class of this level, you and your dog must have the skills taught in levels 1 and 2. This course teaches the handler and the dog advanced techniques for showing. This course is specifically designed to assist people and dogs who are confident in their show skills and interested in a higher skill level. |
